ABOUT

Wāpu Lodge offers stylish, boutique, private accommodation for up to 10 guests in the heart of New Zealand's world-renowned Marlborough wine region. Wāpu Lodge is located in a private estate providing an exclusive rural feel while being within minutes of wineries, restaurants and the township of Blenheim.

Whether enjoying the luxury of the Marlborough Sounds, the excitement of whale watching in Kaikoura or tasting world class wines and food, Wāpu Lodge provides the perfect base to explore the sights and tastes of the spectacular Marlborough region.

ROOMS

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Wāpu Lodge provides a choice of two types of accommodation:

- The 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom self-contained unit for up to 5 guests and;

- The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom fully self-contained cottage for up to 6 guests;

- All bedrooms have luxurious Super King beds or King Single bed options if desired.

Breakfast

 

Breakfast provisions such as home-made muesli, seasonal fresh fruit and bread for toast. Nespresso machines, kettles and toasters in both the Wāpu Unit and  Wāpu Cottage. 

BBQ

 

4 burner gas BBQs  and outdoor dining tables with garden views at both the Wāpu Unit and the Wāpu Cottage.  

Garden

Enjoy exploring our 2 acre garden and olive grove, collect fresh eggs from our chickens and stretch you legs with a walk around Dry Hills Estate. 

Laundry

Wāpu Lodge Cottage has a full laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer.

Free wifi available in both the Wāpu Unit and  the Wāpu Cottage. 

Cooking Facilities

 

The Wāpu Cottage has a full size well equipped kitchen for cooking the best of Marlborough produce. The Wāpu Unit has a kitchenette with a microwave oven and a BBQ  for outdoor cooking.

Tennis court (racquets available), trampoline, kids play house, bikes for use, walking access to Wither Hills trails

THINGS TO DO IN THE MARLBOROUGH REGION

Winery Tours and Tastings

 

 

With more than 30 winery cellar doors and restaurants to visit, enjoy the world renowned wine of Marlborough, the home of Cloudy Bay, as either a self guided tour, or with the many guided tours with pick up and drop off options.

Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre

 

One of the worlds foremost exhibits on early aviation history created by Sir Peter Jackson featuring his extensive collection of WW1 and WW2 aeroplanes.

Marlborough Sounds 

 

 

Explore the Marlborough Sounds on a boat, canoe or on foot along the Queen Charlotte Track. Try fishing, diving or sailing in our local aquatic playground.

Whale and Dolphin Watching

 

Take the picturesque drive to Kaikoura and get up close to the resident sperm whales and dolphins on the famous Kaikoura coastline. On your way pick up a fresh cooked crayfish for a delicious lunch by the sea. 

Richmond Ranges and Nelson Lakes

 

Get your walking boots on and explore everything from short day walks around glacial lakes right through to multi day hikes between huts in the Richmond Ranges and Nelson Lakes region.

Biking 

 

 

The region has many cycling options, winery tours, mountain biking in the Wither Hills, meander along the Taylor River, exploring the expanse of the Wairau Valley makes for easy flat riding.

YOUR HOSTS

Nikki and Jim, your hosts, have lived in the Marlborough region for over 9 years. Nikki has a background in hospitality while Jim works for the regions leading winery. They have a passion for the local  food and wine which they love to share with their guests.
